本文主要记录下vpn与proxy的区别。

  1. configure level
    • vpn configures at the system level, so all traffic goes through the vpn encrypted connection
    • a proxy server on the other hand usually configure at the individual app level
  2. security
    • encrypt the data, and put it in the tunnel and send it to the vpn server,
      vpn is more security than proxy
    • proxy
      1. http proxy only for websites
      2. socks proxy supports any type of traffic
